Meet Mia Croonquist

Among the Junior team alums who stand out is Mia Croonquist. As a 14-year-old, she was the youngest female rower to ever compete with the U.S. national team at the World Rowing Junior Championships. She returned home with a gold and would go on to win more medals at Worlds in subsequent years. She also rowed on the U23 team in 2015 bringing home two gold medals. She began her rowing career with VIRC as an 8th grader and after graduating from Vashon High School she went on to row for UC Berkeley. 

Housed in our boathouse is a women’s 8+ named to honor Mia.
