VIRC & Covid-19: Rowing in Summer 2020

Given that we are in the midst of a global pandemic, and that King County, as of June 5, 2020 is in Phase 1.5 of Governor Inslee’s Safe Start proclamation, VIRC is able to offer limited rowing opportunities on the water to experienced rowers. During the months of June, July and August of 2020, athletes will row in singles during coached practices 2-3 times a week. Each practice will be limited to five boats. VIRC will follow specific protocols developed by the club in accordance with the King County Health Department and CDC guidelines, which includes the cleaning of all equipment after each session, wearing of masks when not on the water, and proper social distancing among athletes and our coaching staff. For more details on VIRC’s protocols, click here:  VIRC Covid-19 Cleaning Protocols

Once King County receives approval to move into Phase Two of Safe Start, this schedule will be revised in accordance with the guidelines set forth by WA State and Governor Inslee

The cost to row this summer is self-determined. We are looking to cover as much of the club’s monthly expenditures through your contributions and donations. We so appreciate your support.
