VIRC & Covid-19: Fall Rowing 2020

The global pandemic continues and King County currently remains in WA State’s Phase Two of Safe Start. Athletes will row in singles (or household doubles, per the coach’s discretion) during coached practices. Each practice will be limited to six boats, with the exception of Learn To Row, to be capped at four participants in two singles and one double each session. VIRC follows specific protocols developed by the club in accordance with the King County Health Department and CDC guidelines, including the cleaning of all equipment after each session, wearing of masks by athletes and coaches when not on the water, and proper social distancing among athletes and our coaching staff. For more details on VIRC’s protocols, click here:  VIRC Covid-19 Cleaning Protocols

If King County is approved/asked to move into another phase of Safe Start, this schedule will be revised in accordance with the guidelines set forth by WA State and Governor Inslee

Juniors will row twice weekly, weather permitting, on Sunday and one weekday (per coach’s schedule). They are also invited to work out 1-2 days per week with their assigned rowing day’s teammates, not to exceed three athletes per time period in the ITC and as scheduled by Coach Ben. Athletes will be provided an individualized workout schedule to be implemented on their “off” days and structured to incorporate the equipment each athlete has on hand.
