USA JW8+ Gets 3rd in Prelim & Moves to the Finals

With the preliminary race complete, the US Junior Women’s 8+, stroked by Mia Croonquist, can recover and gear up for the final this Saturday at the 2012 Junior World Championships.  The crew came in third place behind Romania and Germany, with a time of 6:36.09.  Seems that was part of the plan after hearing about the race from Mia.  “The Romanians are really quick, they are all huge! I was impressed. The Germans did pretty well too. In the 3rd 500 [meters] they started to walk, and we just didn’t respond back. We have a few tricks that we didn’t pull out this race. It will be interesting in the final, we will see how it plays out. [Our] coaches were happy, so we are happy, but we just have to build from that”, she said. Good luck and GO USA!!
