American Lake Regatta a Wash

American Lake Regatta a Wash

Windy weather and water conditions caused the cancellation of the American Lake Fall Classic regatta before the first boat even raced the 5K course.  Several boats flipped and many were swamped by the rough waves.  VIJC’s Junior Women’s 8+ took on so much water coxswain Ally Clevenger used her rain boots to bail as much as she could while the crew slowly rowed toward the safety of the docks.  The crew and teammates received applause and cheers from the spectators as they worked to get the swamped boat out of the water. Watch the drenching: Swamped Jr W 8+
