Vashon Island Rowing Club offers Junior rowers programming throughout the year. Ranging in age from 13 to 19 and in grades 8 through 12, rowers learn to blend power, balance, finesse, and endurance on the water in a cooperative, co-ed team atmosphere. Novice rowers learn the basics of rowing and receive a well-rounded introduction to crew. Returning rowers continue to train in technique and improved fitness. Juniors interested in being a coxswain are encouraged to sign up. Regatta competitions require off-island travel on several weekends. Practices are held at VIRC’s boathouse at Jensen Point from 3:10 pm until 5:40 pm Monday through Friday during the season.

Registration deadlines, schedules, and fees associated with each season are shown on the page for that season (click on the season name below). A limited amount of financial aid is available for all programs. For details about the VIJC financial aid policy and application procedures, click HERE.
